Disney Train Tour coming to Louisville and Cleveland in September 2009

Disney’s “A Christmas Carol” train tour will pull out of Los Angeles’ Union Station 25 May. During the next 24 weeks, the train will make 40 stops in 36 states, as it travels its way across more than 16,000 miles of track. The tour will finish at New York’s Grand Central Station 30 October through 1 November.

Amtrak locomotives and engineers will lead the four-car Train Tour across the US, with stops ranging from 1-3 days along the way. Equipment for the train will include three coaches that formerly constituted the Art Train, plus a baggage car and heavyweight observation car Lamberts Point. Four of the five cars will be decorated to evoke 19th Century London.

Each train station will be themed with holiday decorations, and feature artwork from the 3-D film, “Disney’s A Christmas Carol,” fun activities for the entire family, and snow! Disney's animated remake of the Charles Dickens classic stars Jim Carrey as Scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future. Directed by Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Robert Zemeckis, “Disney’s A Christmas Carol” opens November 6 in theatres, in Disney Digital 3D™ and in IMAX 3D®.
